Staff members not on Ern/Staff duplicates

Your reported Incident has been resolved with the following resolution:

The two staff members are not on ERN
will have to add as an external
<B2-A1>
<A>dd
<E>xternal option

If there are staff duplicates you have two options
1. Change the barcode on the External one to a Z barcode and then change the barcode on the correct entry to the original barcode This ensutres that you do noyt loose over due books
after all books have been returned or written off the external barcode can be deleted

2. return all books delete out external borrower
Change barcode on new record to existing barcode Borrow books to this one

We just changed our library barcodes to ERN numbers. No problems here. We just did a refresh and can’t figure out how to print out a list of students and staff refreshed. We are used to putting in a barcode range to get a print out. Can anyone give me the details please.

Ern refresh-when?

 Refreshing students in OASIS

 

Sorry to be a nuisance on something I should know but just need a reminder on how to do a refresh of students. Gone through all the options in OASIS and can’t seem to find it. Checked my prehistoric (well, at least pre-Thin Client) OASIS manuals and can’t find it either. My assistant usually does this but she’s off in China! Also, do all other OASIS users (ie. the front office admin staff) have to be logged out or can I do it anytime?

 

B4/R3 – just make sure that the barcode matches the one on the sheet of barcodes…Admin doesn’t need to be logged out…. students “come over” from ERN overnight so all new students may not appear first time.

Add borrower – Ern numbers

I don’t use Staff Refresh because of problems with duplicates in the past, so we manually add them & have found since ERN that we cannot add someone as staff unless they have the ADMIN number, it just won’t go past that point, & so they have to be Externals, even if they are starting a big block placement, until Admin has processed them enough to get the magic staff code. Then we can change their category later.
However, this year I’ve had to deal with students not rolling over properly from 11 to 12 & getting duplicated. That has been a pain because of simultaneous records for both “identities”. I’ve managed to fix all but one which didn’t work as I discovered late today & shall have to try again Monday.
