Accession without SCIS

Posted by bhs on May 12, 2010

To accession yourself, go into B1, D1 and add a resource. You need to have some idea of what Dewey number you which to give the resource as well as your subject headings. Remember though in Scis you can search by title or subject – you don’t need an ISBN.

To accession manually:  -add- in OASIS, type the title – enter, type the author – enter, type the publisher and the year – enter, type the physical description – enter, type location, classification and suffix, change the GMD, enter subjects, use your next barcode, accept accession number, enter your supplier and cost – finished.

Accession numbers

Posted by bhs on March 31, 2010

I am having trouble with a SCIS download. When I opened the files in OASIS, none of the books have an accession number. In the past for me it has always appeared as –NEXT– and then when I’ve gone into Copies it appears as a number, but these records have no info at all.
Anyone know what we can do to find our next accession number?
