Loans: number per class

Posted by bhs on April 23, 2010

Is it possible for OASIS to give the number of loans for each class for the year? I would like to reward the class with the most loans.

Loan statistics

Posted by bhs on February 27, 2010

Loan Statistics [B2/M1] will give you the number of loans in a given period
of time – it shows the individual days. It was limited to 3 characters which
made the maximum 999 in any day. It certainly gives an indication of how
busy you are.

I don’t know of any report that gives the number of returns, but you could
rightly claim[over a period of time] that for every loan taken out, there is
a corresponding return.

When teaching in the Wollongong area, I used these statistics to argue
successfully for extra SAO time on one specific day. The scenario was – all
the reading materials were put onto OASIS; reading boxes were mostly
returned on a Tuesday afternoon & teachers wanted new ones on a Wednesday -
so the Wednesday Loan figures had reached 999 every week for a whole term;
Tuesdays were either 999 or very close. It was obvious that the issue of
reading resources need to be better facilitated. I negotiated that an extra
day’s SAO time was paid for by English KLA – the SAO was exclusively
employed in the library that day to work on readers [returns, loans,
repairs, new acquisitions etc].
